The evolution of educational technology globally and in Uganda. Educational technology has evolved globally in four stages;
- Stone age which is termed as the early age, it involves the use of stones, pebbles, slates and slabs, counting sticks and bottle caps. During this period, education was elitist and Aristotelian in nature and it was reserved for the rich.
- age of book and chalkboard, at this stage there was introduction of a printing machine and a book was printed.

- mass communication age, at this stage, the invention of radios and televisions marked a landmark in the development of Educational technology.

- Computer age,this involves the invention of computers over the world. There comes the following development also like, electronic board kin to white boards with special pens capable to transfer data written on it to the system.

Different learning theories and their implications to educational technology some of the theories include; Albert Bandura, attribution theory, Mezirow, Jerome Bruner, Maslow, Skinner, Piaget and Levy Vygosky.
Albert Bandura's theory is a social cognitive learning theory and states that learning is through observation and imitation. When people observe a role model performing a behavior and the consequences of the behavior they remember the sequences of the events and use of this information to guide their subsequent behavior.
Maslows hierarchy of needs
Maslow's hierarchy of needs is a theory in psychology proposed by Abraham Maslow in his 1943 paper "A Theory of Human Motivation" in Psychological Review. Maslow subsequently extended the idea to include his observations of humans' innate curiosity. His theories parallel many other theories of human developmental psychology,
